12 Kits of Christmas {August}

Friday, August 31, 2012

It's time for the August edition of  The 12 Kits of Christmas!  This month Kim has put together a fun kit with non-traditional Christmas colors.  I had a lot of fun coloring the images she sent us and adding glitter to just about everything!

This one is my favorite!  I love how the ornaments came out!

On this card I was able to use some white, plastic snowflakes that I have hoarded forever!  They worked perfectly on this card, I thought:)

I loved this ribbon so much I had to use it twice!  I think I need to pick some up.
Kim, does it come in other colors?

Again, this month, we are choosing another 12 kits member to CASE.  This time I chose Amy!  I loved her card so much.  My stash from that month was a bit limited, but I managed to make her card with shorter banners.  I think it still works!

The photo below is of Amy's original card!

I hope you enjoyed this month's kit!  Stop by all of the other ladies (links below) and see what they have come up with.  I can't wait to see.  Next month is my turn!  It's extra fun because September is also my birth month.  Weird coincidence:)  I have put together a kit and I can't wait to see how everyone uses what I have included!  Hope they like it!!

  1. I CASED the same card of Amy’s , but used this months papers. Your cards are gorgeous! I love the sentiment on the last one. The ornaments on the first one are so pretty, love the way you glittered and colored them. I really like the placement of the buttons on the third card. Nice work Kara!

  3. I agree with you Kara, my favorite is also the ornament card! I love the glitter :) But the one with the half and half die is a close runner up! The glitter looks great on the tree, too :) I agree that that ribbon is really neat, I'm going to have to check it out too. I think your case turned out just as great with the shorter banners. I know what you mean about not having enough supplies when it comes time for the case! Did the "Silent Night" sentiment come in your kit? I love it! Mine didn't have that one. Great job this month, Kara!

    I LOVE those ornaments...
they are gorgeous in all their glittery goodness! :)
Didn't this kit just call for glitter and metallic's?
Love that "snowman" paper in the 2nd...
that adorable tree in the 3rd...
    and Silent Night...
    simply gorgeous!!
And I almost CASED that exact card!!
    Except well...
I got distracted by all the glam drama with the NJ's! *giggle*
And I seem to remember your birthday is coming up...
kind'a hard to forget when someone shares the same date...
and it happens to fall on THAT date!

  10. Oh Kara, those are the prettiest glittery ornaments on your first card...so pretty! I also really loved the snowflakes on your silver diecut, the little touch of rhinestones with the Silent Night Sentiment and your case of Amy's banner card was really well done. Loved what you made this month!

  14. Kara, all of your cards are just amazing, but then I knew they all would be. I love them all so I don't have a favorite, but that snowman one is just too darn cute! So many wonderful cards to CASE now, I can't wait! For the pleated ribbon, I purchased that from Stampin Up and it comes in 4 colors, green, red, blue and of course the pink.

  15. Kara, your cards are so feminine and elegant! I glittered ornaments look amazing, especially with the glitter border. I love how you accented your second card with the little snowflakes. And I'm so glad I still have the ruffled ribbon to use! It adds such a great texture to your cards. Wonderful inspiration this month!
